Future is void, but the development of the technology had made it a bit clear. The film black mirror and the future scenario I had made with my peers give me a great impression of how our world would be like in the future. The development of the AI would replace the jobs that we have today at some stage, and it is going to have a great impact on our society.
The future scenario that I did with my group is aimed to explore whether it is possible to talk with the departure of our loved one in 2040. By applying the double variable method, we started to consider what it would be like with the development of technology and how we would interact with each other in 2040. According to the development of the technology, we believed that our scenario would be most likely to happen with high technology and virtual interaction. By referring to the film Black Mirror, we believed that the big data is what going to be used to construct the memories of the departed one and it would, therefore, make up the interaction of information system.
According to the back-casting method, we believed that there is an enormous potential for risk with the imagination of our product. Instead of big data, the development of AI is also what we find out that going to achieve the connection between the depart of our loved one with us. Google Assistant call is an excellent example of people using AI to communicate to a non-living organism; it gives us a great insight of that people would not recognize when they talk to Robert unless they have been told, this has built up our confidence of the future scenario that we intend to create.
However, with the big benefit of talking to the departed one that we loved and reduce our pain, hacking system is a very knotty problem that we need to face and solve in the future. As our details that implant into the information system to form the memories when we depart, whether our information would be stolen by the hacker to act like a criminal, privacy become the most significant issue that we need to concern for the future. Robert Tappan Morris, David L. Smith, and Jonathan James are the famous hacker in the 18th century who has stolen a lot of secret document from the government and first government to undertake a massive amount of economic losses. As these significant events of hacking information are still vivid, some people argue that hacker has built up a more safety information system nowadays as they were intended to attack our computer. Statistic suggests that more pirates are invading information system of another country that they don’t belong to, for example, China and American have a lot of hackers who invade each other’s countries information in the past 20 years. However, as China and America signed the agreement, the decline of the amount of hacker has mainly been reduced. In this case, it is not hard to imagine a future with the safe and secure information system which maintain our privacy, such that a large amount of information about the departed one we loved will not be stolen for un-appropriate behavior.
In conclusion, the future is a bond with the development of technology. However, there is still a lot of issues that we needed to solve about information system. AI and Big data are a huge step forward of technology; we would probably use them to connect to the departed one we loved, however, it still needs a lot to work on fixing and improving the security on the information system.
